Join Jeff Phenix, who is returning to Bamboo after a thoroughly enjoyable 2017 retreat for a very special week of transformative and inspirational yoga at the stunning beach yoga holiday venue, Bamboo Yoga Retreat. We will be practicing in the open-air Shala, which has soul-feeding views over Patnem beach and out to sea.

Jeff’s style is dynamic and creative and incorporates mindful, skillful vinyasa with safe alignment alongside, yin, restorative, pranayama and meditation.   He is very experienced at teaching students of all levels and the depth of his experience, playful approach, ability to challenge students to safely push their boundaries and his love of meditation, will give you the perfect opportunity to deepen your practice both physically and internally. In this amazing environment right on a beautiful beach you can enjoy making new friends, eating delicious, healthy food and can return home feeling recharged, energized and relaxed.

Jeff is a leading UK teacher who teaches at London’s Triyoga studios and the Life Centre, he trains teachers on Triyoga’s teacher training course and regularly teaches workshops and retreats internationally and in the UK.

Accommodation is in beautiful, simple shared ensuite beach hut bungalows. As we will be sharing the retreat centre with other guests who are doing Yoga Holidays classes with local teachers and the number of huts that are available to our group is limited we would like to encourage people to share. Consider coming with a friend or if not we can pair you with someone else of the same sex who is also travelling alone. Often a large proportion of people coming on Jeff’s yoga holidays will be coming alone so sharing is part of a retreat experience and is a great way to make new friends. For those who prefer their own space a limited number of singles are available.

A creative, playful and explorative ‘deep slow flow’ asana practice emphasizing the breath, mindfulness and skillful appropriate action that will – by using and building up through a range of appropriate options – allow students, from the less experienced to the more advanced, to discover how to find and work peacefully at the level appropriate to them.

7pm Dinner a delicious vegetarian buffet.

The rest of the time will be free to do as you please…enjoying the beach, hammocks, massage, reading, optional activities and excursions, coconut trees and sunsets etc.

There will be a final optional yoga session on the morning of Sat 17th February if your travel timetable allows. Taxi transfers to and from the airport can be arranged.

There will be one afternoon without any yoga to allow for longer excursions (very probably a dolphin boat trip which is included in the holiday price), or more relaxation on the beach!

If time allows consider taking an extra few days on either side of the retreat to help you acclimatize, get over jet lag and enjoy spending more time in beautiful Goa.

  • "Deciding to go to India for the first time, on my own to a retreat where I didn't know anyone else turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made! My week in Goa with you (at Bamboo) really was one of the best experiences of my life. I escaped my routine, met and talked to like-minded yogis who were all so welcoming and open and really went deep into my own practice. Not only did it reaffirm my love for yoga but reminded me how important it is to take time out for myself. Jeff you inspired me so much with your warmth as well as your humor and your knowledge, range of inspirational readings and creating beautiful practices is something I will really treasure."
